Garlock Packing - Style 5481 - Glass Yarn Packing
Overview:
  • Style 5481 is 100% glass fiber braid, supplied dry, but also available with a graphite finish upon request. Usually found on static sealing or gasketing services, and sometimes for reciprocating motion. These styles resist organic solvents, most acids and mild alkalies.
  • Style 5481 has been accepted as a substitute for asbestos packing materials by the U.S. dept. of Labor, Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). These styles are in compliance with all the requirements: compression, flammability and explosion.
